Many of us are guilty of hoarding our pretty papers and never using them!! We like to buy them and stroke them, and the thought of cutting into a beautiful sheet of DSP sends cold shivers down us.

But these papers are made for using and sharing. I like to maximise the projects that I can make from a sheet of DSP and to this end, I have hit on the idea of “quilted” cards. I followed a You Tube tutorial by the very talented Sam Donald on how to make a basic box to hold 3 x 3 cards and then I used my 3/4 round punch to punch circles from the scraps of In Colour DSP. I then stuck them to card and ran then through the polka dot embossing folder. The effect is really lovely. These would make a super gift for someone and the 3 x 3 envelopes from Stampin Up compliment these little gems.

Do Me A Favour!

Weddings!!! The sun is out and love must surely be in the air, and what is more romantic than this gorgeous paper from Stampin Up. There is even a clue in the name ,” Something Borrowed”! These can be filled with all sorts of little sweets, but sugared almonds are traditional and symbolise good luck

To make the base of the box I followed a really easy You Tube tutorial by Sam Doanld and then I decorated it using thr Something Borrowed DSP and the matching embellishments. I raised up the embellishment by cutting out a small scallop circle and then a 1/2″ circle to mount it on.

Do you have a wedding coming up? Would you like to learn how to make your own favours? Styles and colours can be adapted to your own wedding .

Pretty Packaging

SAM_1001I wanted to post something really special today! I was thinking perhaps I shouldnt, as it might ruin the surprise, but then I thought even if my sister did see it, she would have no idea what the contents of the packaging were going to be!!
This is a “special “birthday for an even more special sister and I wanted to create something that was stunning and created with love. I followed a You Tube video by Jackie Bolhuis, who gives very clear instructions on how to make a gift bag from two sheets of 12 x 12 DSP. The Something Borrowed DSP is so lovely and I was able to create the bag that I had envisaged.
If you would like to learn how to  make a bag like this, cards or other paper products please do not hesitate to contact me on here or 07881027800. I can offer classes in the comfort of your own home, with friends or on a one to one basis.
