Thumping!

IMG_1293….no I don’t mean hitting someone!! Way too violent for me! No “Thumping” means tapping a marker against a stamp to create an effect.

This card was created using Lovely as a Tree stampset by Stampin Up. It is their most popular stampset ever and is hugely versatile. It also features a product coming very soon in the new Autumn Winter catalogue. If you would like a copy I will be happy to pop one in the post to you x

This card would be suitable for either a man or a woman and the would grain effect of the embossing folder enhances the natural look of the tree. The whole thing is finished in green and brown to give a woody look to the card. Hope you like it, and it will be one of the cards featured in my next class on 14 September at 7.30. If you would be interested in joining me, and learning how to make this card, you can either contact me on 07881027800 or email me rosie@occasionalpapercrafts.co.uk.

Plain Sailing

travelerMale cards are not always so easy!! I have a craft room and a head full of flowers and girly things, so when someone asked me for that all important “male” card, I had to think a bit harder.

Inspiration came from a card I saw on Pinterest by Beckie Roy. I changed mine a little to make it my own, but her lovely card gave me the inspiration I needed.

The Traveler Stampset by Stampin Up has quite a few images suitable for male cards and I love the monchrome look of black and white, so off I set!

I allowed myself some pearls (hope you don’t think them too effeminate) and I coloured them black with my black sharpie pen. This project also features a new punch coming soon…I carn’t say more than that, but if you would like an Autumn/Winter catalogue, just email me rosie@occasionalpapercrafts.co.uk and I will pop one in the post.

My next class will be held on Monday 14 September. Why not come along and try your hand at card making or expand your skills? Suitable for all. I would love to hear from you 07881 027800.

Until next time. Happy Crafting

How Does my Garden Grow?

IMG_1240We have all heard the nursery rhyme and remember the cockle shells and the three maids all in a row. I am ashamed to say that my garden falls far short of this, as I am not a keen gardener,,,infact I would go as far to say that I hate it!! My mother was a keen gardener and needlewoman but I prefer the satisfaction of creating beauty from a few bits of card , glue, and an imagination.

This little box was created to hold four cards which I have decorated in stylised flowers from my imaginary Stampin Up garden! They would make a lovely little gift, perhaps as a thank you, or hope you soon feel better.

This box of cards is one of the projects featured in my upcoming class on August 10 at 7.30 in Meonstoke. If you would like to come and learn how to make this cutie, eat cake, drink tea and see my weedy garden, call me on 07881027800 or email me rosie@occasionalpapercrafts.co.uk. You would be so welcome. All materials provided. Something for all skill levels xxxx

Happy crafting until next time
